“Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Women comprise almost half of America’s workforce, and a large percentage of them are mom entrepreneurs.
They either choose to work or they must work while balancing their roles as women, wives and mothers. More and more, working moms are taking control of their work and family life. Many are choosing the entrepreneurial route, while others are taking leadership roles in larger companies.
Their greatest challenge, like mine and probably yours, is finding enough time to do it all. It seems that 24 hours just aren’t enough to clothe, feed, and nurture children, commute to and from work, get the results mompreneurs want at work, plan menus, shop, cook and clean, run errands and attend soccer games, connect with family and friends and still have “me time” at the end of the day.
Mom entrepreneurs need flexibility to create harmony in their lives. Our yearning to do meaningful work drives us to find an ideal job that is flexible enough to work around school plays and getting our kids on the bus in the morning. And more and more, we want this work to reflect who we are, to showcase our potential, and to allow us to accomplish our dreams. For mom entrepreneurs, our family is our number one priority, but our work is a lifestyle choice. Sure, we’re the CEOs of our family, but we are also full of ambition, talent, skills, passion and creativity. We didn’t lose these facets of our personalities when we had our children. We just rounded them out when motherhood gave us a new focus and a new perspective. As a mom, you make sacrifices for your family. But isn’t it time you got to live the life you’ve always wanted? What benefits would your family receive by you being joyfully fulfilled by your life’s work?
